Plan to fight obesity crisis is doomed as there are too many junk food options available

The urge to go on a diet has never been as prominent as in these last years, as people feel the need to lose the weight gained during the lockdown, but it also has never been as hard to follow a diet plan.

In an article written by the IMOGEN HORTON FOR THE DAILY MAIL with the title “Plan to fight obesity crisis is doomed to fail because there are too many junk food options available, ministers are warned” tells us just that.

As we perceive in the article trying to diet is hard, not only because of the abundance of different diets to choose from, but the constant bombarding of junk food advertising all around us it gets even harder.

Seeing junk food ads has become an ordinary occurrence in our daily lives, we see them so often we may have not noticed the astounding amount of fast-food publicity that passed through our eyes during the time we were confined in our homes

In order to succeed our diet plan, without being influenced by all the unhealthy food, the article tells us we “must avoid going to parties, work canteens and certain store aisles”, but can we really do this? The high prices of food considered healthy in comparison with those of the unhealthy foods, which are way cheaper, are a main factor for people to cease their diets as the cheap, and usually with promotions, junk food is more within the budget principally in the current times as people see their income decrease as a result of the pandemic.

We can confidently say that going on a diet in the prevailing time is only for those strong-willed and who have good self-control.
